Dimension Data has completed its transition as IT outsource provider to Genesis Energy, completing its replacement of outgoing provider Gen-i in just eight weeks.

The suppliers won the five-year contract for the energy company in June, following a competitive tender process.

The contract includes Dimension Data's Uptime support service and Insite service management offerings for Genesis' nationwide corporate IT environment, as well as a dedicated services team and nominated touch-points to ensure open communication.

Chris Robb, IT services manager for Genesis Energy, says with competition increasing, energy customers are seeking more control and better value from their energy purchases.

"It is important to us to select service partners who offer a flexible supplier engagement model,” Robb says.

Gen-i has just been named as one of two companies signed up for a significant government contract.
