Elastic unveils new Automatic Import feature for log migration
Elastic, known as the Search AI Company, has unveiled its new Automatic Import feature. This addition aims to streamline the migration process of custom data sources from legacy log solutions to advanced AI-driven log analytics. The company highlights that the new solution can automate these migrations in under ten minutes, presenting a significant acceleration in log data onboarding.
Abhishek Singh, General Manager of Observability at Elastic, provided further insights into the challenges faced by Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams. "Collecting data and extracting insights from it starts with leveraging prebuilt data integrations," Singh stated.
"Building integrations with custom connectors is a manual process that slows down data collection and issue analysis and negatively impacts the customer experience. Automatic Import addresses these challenges in less than 10 minutes by utilising LLMs to automate the process."
The company acknowledges the rapid growth in applications and the corresponding increase in telemetry data that SRE teams must monitor. The addition of Automatic Import is a step towards easing the complexities of managing this data volume by speeding up the migration from outdated log solutions.
Additionally, Elastic has introduced the Elastic Express Migration programme to encourage faster adoption. This initiative seeks to mitigate the inertia that often occurs when migrating from existing deployments and contracts. Observability users looking to shift their logging and application performance monitoring (APM) use cases to Elastic Observability can now do so more efficiently through the program.
Elastic, traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker ESTC, positions itself as a key player in search AI technologies. The company's solutions are built on the Elastic Search AI Platform and address various search, observability, and security needs. They are utilised by many clients, including more than half of the Fortune 500 companies.
The combination of Automatic Import and Elastic Express Migration underscores Elastic's commitment to providing tools that simplify data collection and analysis, ensuring that organisations can swiftly transition to more advanced, AI-powered log analytics systems.
