Employment Hero reaches AUD $250M in annual recurring revenue

Today

Employment Hero has announced it has achieved over AUD $250 million in annualised recurring revenue (ARR), marking a significant milestone for the employment management solutions provider.

The company, which aims to simplify employment processes for businesses and job seekers, has reported that its platform is utilised by over 300,000 businesses globally and manages employment for two million individuals. This growth contributes to job creation and economic impacts worldwide.

Employment Hero has also expanded its operations by acquiring Canadian HR and payroll firm, Humi, at the beginning of 2025. This acquisition marks Employment Hero's entry into the Canadian market.

The company attributes part of its growth to significant investments in product innovation throughout 2024, with the development teams issuing 900 new product updates. Employment Hero processed more than AUD $125 billion in payroll for over two million employees last year.

Ben Thompson, CEO and Co-Founder of Employment Hero, commented on the achievement, stating, "Our results show the tremendous value our employment operating system offers our customers. We provide an all-in-one, customisable platform that offers world-leading solutions powered by AI including Intelligent Payroll, SmartMatch and more while also solving daily problems like business compliance and team engagement."

He further emphasized the company's commitment to enhancing local and global economies, saying, "When small businesses are successful, communities, nations, and economies are stronger. We're committed to supporting job creation to boost local economies and GDP globally. We'll continue to bring innovation to market to simplify the lives of employers, employees, and job seekers with products that solve real, everyday employment challenges."

The company has introduced several features based on customer feedback, such as customisable dashboards and tools that align with brand aesthetics. Additionally, Employment Hero has launched its own talent marketplace, complete with verified candidates and enhanced interaction features.

Employment Hero also highlighted the Hero Foundation, dedicated to assisting individuals facing barriers in employment, by matching them with organisations willing to provide job opportunities. The foundation's goal is to achieve one million employment placements by 2034, utilising AI-driven recruitment technology and access to Employment Hero's extensive customer network.

The launch of SmartMatch furthers Employment Hero's abilities, utilising AI to provide a job marketplace that connects employers and job seekers with real-time data.
