Epson launches the SureColor SC-P5330 for vibrant photos

Thu, 13th Jun 2024

Epson has launched the Epson SureColor SC-P5330 Photo Graphic Inkjet Printer, designed explicitly for vibrant photographic reproduction on various media such as artist canvas and premium photo papers.

The newly introduced printer comes amid growing demand for personalised photo products and merchandise. The global photo printing and merchandise market is projected to expand at an annual rate of 3.2% from 2023 to 2032, reaching USD $28.2 billion. This growth is largely driven by the photo printing industry's need for high-quality photographic reproduction.

The SC-P5330 is powered by Epson's Micro Piezo printhead technology, which ensures consistent printing results. The printhead features 1,800 nozzles, allowing for precise control of dot size, shape, and placement. This level of control aids in capturing intricate details with rapid coverage in a single print.

One notable feature of the SC-P5330 is its dedicated black ink channels, which allow for real-time black ink selection. With two channels for Photo Black and Matte Black inks, the printer can automatically select the appropriate ink type based on the media being used. This function significantly enhances print speeds and optimises ink consumption, thereby improving overall productivity.

The printer also utilises Epson's UltraChrome PRO 10 ink set, which includes a new violet ink component to expand the colour gamut and enhance blue reproduction. This system works in conjunction with the Carbon Black and Black Enhance Overcoat print modes to produce higher black density and increased contrast, yielding smoother gradations.

To support an efficient workflow, the SC-P5330 is compatible with a suite of Epson software solutions. These include the Epson Colour Calibration Utility, which measures colour density and allows for central management of printer networks. Additionally, the Epson Print Layout Software, which functions as a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Nikon ViewNX-i, offers template layouts, ICC soft proofing, and custom media registration. The Epson Cloud Solution PORT also allows operations to monitor their fleet of printers from different sites either from the production floor or remotely via PC or mobile.

Despite its advanced features, the SC-P5330 maintains a compact and affordable profile within Epson's range of large-format printers. The 17-inch photo printer builds on the success of its predecessor, the P5000, and caters to both professional photographers and hobbyists, offering professional-grade photo quality at a competitive price.

Derek Tan, Head of Sales and Marketing at Epson Singapore, commented, "The impressive Epson SC-P5330 Inkjet Printer is the result of the tireless effort of our innovation team. Its unparalleled print precision and colour accuracy is an absolute game-changer that's all set to disrupt the photography industry. We are spearheading innovations in our product offerings, be it software or hardware, to empower more individuals and businesses as they seek high-quality, compact-sized printers. The launch of the SC-P5330 marks a new chapter for Epson as we make strides in our innovation journey and unlock better print performance."
