Check Point Software Technologies has appointed Kurt Hansen as regional managing director, Australia and New Zealand, who will take on the task of leading the business to support its existing customers, grow sales and strengthen its market share in the region.

The internet security provider says as regional managing director, Hansen will be responsible for overall business operations, sales and business development.

Hansen brings more than 20 years’ experience in the information technology industry, with an impressive track record of successfully leading businesses to drive revenue growth and significantly increase market share.

Commenting on his new role, Hansen says it’s a very exciting time to be joining Check Point, as it continues to bolster operations in the region:

“Check Point has grown considerably over the past decade and I’m confident that we’ll continue to strengthen our position as the market leader in delivering superior security solutions to our customers,” Hansen says.

“I’m looking forward to working with the team to further enhance our market share in Australia and New Zealand.”

Hansen joins Check Point from his most recent role as managing director, Australia and New Zealand for F5 Networks, where he grew the Australia and New Zealand business five fold since 2009 as well as transforming and directing the sales program with F5’s service providers across the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to Check Point, he gained extensive sales and operational leadership experience while at AirData, Symbol Technologies, Telstra Wholesale, Cisco Systems, and Ericsson.

In these positions he was responsible for increasing revenue and managing costs whilst building high performing sales and delivery teams.
