FYI, this story is more than a year old

F5 Networks has been named a leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs) for the eighth year in a row.

Yet again, F5 has been recognised for its technology and Synthesis vision.

Manny Rivelo, EVP of Strategic Solutions at F5 commented on the announcement.

“We feel being recognised for eight consecutive years as a Leader in the ADC Magic Quadrant is a powerful reflection of F5’s technology, our Synthesis vision, and the real business challenges customers are addressing," he says.

“Making it easier for customers to quickly and securely deploy applications and services across their networks - in the data center or in the cloud - is our top priority."

The Magic Quadrant is a series of market research reports published by Gartner, the U.S. based research and advisory firm.

Covering a number of markets, it aims to provide a qualitative analysis into a market, its direction and maturity of participants.

ADCs is one market. According to Gartner, ADCs provide functions that optimise delivery of enterprise applications across the network for both user to application and application to application traffic.

“The ADC effectively bridges the gap between the application and underlying protocols and the traditional packet-based networks,” says Gartner.

F5 is an ADC, providing solutions for an application world. The company helps organisations scale cloud, data center and software defined networking (SDN) developments. This ensures applications are continuously successfully delivered.

With a number of partnerships with leading technology and data center orchestration vendors, F5 solutions are said to broaden the reach of IT with an open, extensible framework. This means customers can pursue the infrastructure model that best fits their needs.
