Mon, 23rd Jan 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

After six years working for Facebook, the company's ANZ head, Paul Borrud, has announced his departure, leaving the company on the hunt for a new representative to drive its local business.

Borrud was reportedly one of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's earliest hires; he came to Australia in 2009 to set up the network's Sydney office.

In a statement, Facebook representatives say Borrud is leaving to spend more time with his family.

"We are grateful for Paul's dedication and the contributions he has made to the company," the statement reads.

"Paul has played a major role in the growth of Facebook's advertising and sales business.

Borrud will remain with Facebook until mid-February. Five vacancies are currently advertised at the company's Sydney office, plus another two in Singapore.
