Fidelity Life appoints Global Data Specialist

Fidelity Life, New Zealand’s largest locally-owned life insurer, has recently appointed Giselle Baker as the new Head of Data and Analytics. This appointment follows Giselle's return to New Zealand after spending more than two decades overseas, honing her expertise in the financial services sector.

Giselle Baker is recognized for her strong technical and leadership skills. Moreover, she possesses a comprehensive understanding of regulatory reporting, which she acquired over a period of 10 years working in the financial services domain.

Commenting on her appointment, Fidelity Life's Chief Financial Officer, Simon Pennington, conveyed the company’s excitement in welcoming Giselle aboard. He highlighted the timeliness of her joining, as Fidelity Life is currently working on several data-driven projects.

Pennington remarks, “Giselle’s experience in leading and developing advanced analytics and reporting for some of the world’s biggest consulting and financial services entities will be invaluable as our new data platform nears completion. Under Giselle’s leadership, our Data and Analytics team will deliver improved insights for the entire business and ultimately help us fulfil our purpose to give New Zealanders certainty to enjoy a more rewarding life.”

Before joining Fidelity Life, Giselle Baker held prominent positions such as Director of Data and Analytics at FTI Consulting and Senior Vice President of Global Management Information and Data Analytics at Citigroup. At Citigroup, she played a pivotal role in automating the bank’s Internal Audit reporting systems and developing self-service analytics capabilities.

With her extensive experience and skillset, Giselle Baker’s leadership is expected to bring significant advancements to Fidelity Life's data and analytics department, enhancing the company's services and fulfilling its commitment to the people of New Zealand.
