FYI, this story is more than a year old

Forescout's new Australia and New Zealand director Rohan Langdon says businesses are facing major challenges as they implement remote working technologies, and new protocols.

Appointed this month, Langdon will be leading Forescout and its customers through these challenges, charged with increasing sales and customer engagement, as well as driving channel partnerships in the region.

Forescout, which delivers network security particularly designed for IoT and OT devices. Langon brings more than 16 years of security and sales experience in organisations such as startups and enterprises. He has worked with the likes of McAfee and Intel.

“Security is a critical component of ensuring business resilience during this period and ensuring vigilance with device visibility and control is a key component. I look forward to collaborating with our customers and partners to help them navigate and improve their security posture and prepare for what lies ahead,” says Langdon.

Forescout's Asia Pacific and Japan regional vice president Wahab Yusoff says that Rohan's deep expertise in IT and security, as well as his history of creating customer and partnership relationships, will provide support across ANZ as the company grows and invests.

The company recently announced a partnership with Medical device security and asset management platform, Medigate.

The partnership will bring together Medigate's in-depth IoMT visibility, anomaly detection and lifecycle management capabilities with Forescout's enterprise device visibility, automated segmentation and incident response capabilities. In addition, Forescout will resell Medigate's platform.

Medigate enables IT, info security, biomedical and clinical engineering teams to identify, monitor and secure every medical device on the clinical network.

Forescout chief product and strategy officer Pedro Abreu adds that connected medical devices are a growing vector for cyber threats.

“The combination of Medigate's deep knowledge of medical devices and the healthcare industry with Forescout's breadth of device intelligence adds a new level of cohesive device insight, expertise and security for the healthcare industry.

Forescout will also extend access control, segmentation, and compliance capabilities across all other connected devices in the health delivery organisation for a cohesive, centralised device visibility and control platform.

“The Medigate and Forescout partnership and integration provide healthcare organisations with rich contextual visibility into their IT and clinical networks, as well as sophisticated network analysis to detect threats and implement clinically-driven policies. These actionable insights will, in turn, reduce risk and improve patient safety,” says Medigate cofounder and CEO Jonathan Langer.

The joint offering will leverage passive technologies to identify and classify all connected medical devices and IT assets on a network, including unknown and hard-to-classify devices, while minimising disruption.
