Free bandwidth monitor from SolarWinds
By Contributor
Mon 17 Oct 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old
Network management providers SolarWinds have added a bandwidth monitor to their range of free network monitoring tools.
The tool updates in real time, making it handy for analyzing the effects of network changes on traffic, as well as catching transient network issues, according to SolarWinds ‘head geek’, Josh Stephens.
"Overall usage of network bandwidth can have a detrimental effect on all network users’ experience,” Stephens says.
"Sometimes, it’s important to know bandwidth at a granular level, especially when troubleshooting or making network changes.”
The bandwidth monitor can be downloaded for free here, along with over 20 other network management tools.
