Fujitsu aims to 'liberate enterprises' with new mobile solution

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Fujitsu aims to helps enterprises achieve greater employee productivity by enabling mobile access to secure data, applications and communications, with the launch of Fujitsu Managed Infrastructure Service Managed Mobile.

Originally launched in 2009, this solution has been substantially developed to extend Fujitsu’s capability from pure Mobile Device Management (MDM) to a true enterprise-grade mobility solution.

“Employees can now securely access and work from anywhere, anytime and from any device with Managed Mobile from Fujitsu, while Enterprise IT departments confidently maintain consistency of the corporate environment and control over data and security," says Jody Little, VP Enterprise Solutions, Fujitsu International Business.

"Fujitsu delivers the complete cloud and managed service solution to enable true enterprise-grade mobility.”

According to Little, the consumerisation of IT is challenging the workplace and IT departments as the line blurs between employees’ work and personal lives.

As a result, Fujitsu’s workplace management and workplace services have been built around its managed mobile solution address the security and compliance issues that to date have seriously constrained the adoption of ‘Bring your own device’ (BYOD) and mobility at enterprise level.

While companies can now safely embrace the mobility technologies needed to propel their businesses forward, Little claims individual employees can productively and confidently use the devices and apps that best suit their needs.

"This is because Fujitsu has adopted a role-based approach to the deployment, management and security of all brands of smartphone, tablet or laptop," Little adds.

"With a holistic view of the mobile environment this approach represents a major evolution from device-centric approaches that have until now dominated this space."

Powered by Citrix XenMobile Enterprise, this technology also allows Fujitsu to integrate with other virtual desktop solutions, enabling access to information across the business that is synchronised and uniformly presented, irrespective of the user’s chosen device, operating system or location.

Importantly for Little, Managed Mobile securely segregates personal and corporate data, and so reduces the likelihood of corporate data loss.

“Customers are looking for solutions to address their enterprise mobility needs," says Amit Pandey, VP and GM, Citrix Mobile Platforms group.

"Fujitsu’s Managed Mobile provides the functionality customers need for device, application, data and network management and security, using Citrix technologies, now including XenMobile.

"The combination of Citrix mobility, app, desktop, data and networking solutions with Fujitsu’s mobility service know-how ensures reliable mobile IT and satisfied users.

"Fujitsu demonstrates innovation and leadership with its cloud-based Managed Mobile offering.”
