Fujitsu opens Auckland service centre
Tue, 10th Nov 2009
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Opened today by Prime Minister John Key, Fujitsu’s new service centre will provide end-user computing services to Qantas personnel across the globe.

The facility was a direct result of Fujitsu’s recent deal to provide end-user services to more than 20,000 desktops and 280 services for Qantas. More than 45 new jobs have been created, with further growth planned as Fujitsu extends its services to both new and existing customers.

“The service centre is a highly valuable asset to our organisation and we are pleased to be able to expand our resources in this area to meet the growing demand for new business,” said Stuart Stitt, Fujitsu’s Managing Director for New Zealand.

The company also expanded its Wellington service centre operation by creating 10 new positions in order to provide technical support to nearly 2,500 employees at BOC Gases, who has been a managed services customer since 2002.

“The enlarged presence here expands our local industry capability as well as giving Fujitsu the opportunity to increase exports of IT services from New Zealand to other international businesses,” said Paul Bourke, GM for Fujitsu Managed Services in New Zealand.
