Rumours from a well-placed insider of upcoming wide-spread redundancies at Gen-i are "pure speculation and inaccurate”, according to a company spokesperson.
This is despite news last month that Telecom is accelerating its planned reorganisation to prepare for Ultra Fast Broadband.
The organisational changes underway include the restructuring of the Telecom executive team, plus the creation of a new central product office.
The Gen-i spokesperson said there are no redundancy plans at this stage, and that like many organisations employing large numbers of staff, roles are often being disestablished and recreated - often with the same staff rehired for the new roles.
