FYI, this story is more than a year old

Telecom subsidiary Gen-i has won a four-year contract with the Capital & Coast DHB to deliver telecommunications services including mobile services, fixed line calling, paging, and maintenance.

The deal also includes a strategic planning partnership to help the DHB develop its roadmap to Unified Communications (UC).

Capital & Coast covers the area from the Wellington peninsula up the West Coast as far as Waiakanae, excluding the Hutt Valley.

Ross Edmonds, Capital & Coast’s acting director for ICT, says the contract will deliver significant cost savings to the DHB.

"Gen-i’s solution will enable us to manage our mobile and fixed line usage more efficiently and provide us greater value for money over the next four years.”

1200 mobile handsets are provided for in the multi-million-dollar contract.
