Gen-i launches ReadyCloud Server
First in a new suite of cloud offerings goes live that aims to offer cost effective, agile computing.
According to Gen-i the ReadyCloud Server provides a hosted ICT environment that enables the deployment of highly available, cost effective and agile computing. It's part of Gen-i’s new ReadyCloud Services, which will see two further offerings launch later this year – ReadyCloud Backup and ReadyCloud Storage.
Gen-i adds that clients can easily set-up and rent virtual machines, on a monthly basis, to augment or replace their existing server infrastructure.
Leanne Buer, Gen-i Head of Infrastructure and Business Applications, said she’s seen great interest from clients keen to take advantage of its ReadyCloud Services to find new ways to be more competitive and reduce costs.
“ReadyCloud provides on-demand computing which means that clients select the server, backup and storage resources they need today, with the flexibility to change as and when required. Rather than purchasing costly servers and underlying support infrastructure, clients can leverage Gen-i’s ReadyCloud capability and achieve business efficiencies such as increased productivity and customer responsiveness.”
Buer added that the firm is focused on taking the complexity of ICT services and delivery models and tailoring a solution that is straightforward, easy to use and delivers real benefits. “By integrating network delivered services with onsite infrastructure it enables clients to maximise their existing assets and leverage new cloud opportunities,” she said.
ReadyCloud Server is delivered with a pay-for-use service model with a month-to-month contract. Monthly pricing for a server starts from $247 (excluding GST) which includes 1GB memory for one virtual machine and 30GB of fast storage.
