Today is quickly turning into Windows Phone 7 day with Gen-i coming out and publically announcing its support for Windows 7 Phone (and getting in a mention of its new LG device),
Chris Quin, CEO Gen-i Australasia, released the following statement: “Soon 50% of all mobile devices in market will be PDAs and the Windows Phone 7 will be one of the leading smartphone operating systems, giving users a mobile internet experience about as close to an integrated computer as they can get.
“Windows Phone 7 is an exciting mobile ecosystem for business and personal entertainment use, offering tight integration with Xbox, Windows 7 media centre and social networking. The operating system also gives developers a platform that will drive innovation and competition in the mobile application space for business.
“As a long-term Microsoft Gold Certified Partner across unified communications, software, services and licensing, we are excited by the potential to help our clients leverage this capability to develop converged solutions that combine fixed and mobile technologies to help address the key challenges business face.”
Regarding LG’s Optimus 7Q (pictured), Quin added, “We are already getting a lot of interest from clients in Windows Phone 7 smartphones and are currently taking pre-orders for a November delivery of the LG Optimus 7Q Windows Phone 7 device.”
Vodafone is launching with the HTC 7 Trophy, while Telecom goes with the HTC HD7.
