Gen-i releases Brisbane update
Thu, 13th Jan 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The General Manager of Gen-i Australia, Paul Wilson, has offered a message of support in the face of flood situation in Queensland, via Telecom’s Facebook page.

“I’m sure you’re all aware of the ever worsening flood situation in Queensland,” he wrote. “Our thoughts go out to all those families who have lost loved ones, homes and businesses, and all those still battling this disaster.  “You may have seen media updates relating to the evacuation of a number of buildings in the CBD and Fortitude Valley. This is due to the threat imposed by the river breaching its banks at multiple locations,” he continued.

“I wanted to give you an update on how the situation affects our colleagues in Brisbane - all team members are safe and well, and at this stage not directly affected by the flood waters, but will keep us updated if the situation worsens. To avoid any risk they will each work from home this week and are contactable on mobile.”

Wilson promised to keep the page updated “if the situation changes for our people.”
