Gen-i wins $5m education ministry contract

Wed, 11th Mar 2009
FYI, this story is more than a year old

According to RFP documents released last July, the three-year contract included the end-of-life replacement of PCs. It envisaged this would involve 1669 desktops, 527 docked laptops and 289 undocked laptops - or 2485 in all. On top of this, the deal would include supply of new equipment to cater to the ministry's growth over the next four years.

As it stood, the ministry catered for around 3200 users across its network (approx 900 Notebooks and 2300 Desktops) in 44 District Offices, nine Wellington Campus buildings, and data centers in Auckland and Wellington.

According to a Post Award Contract notice released recently, the deal will be worth between $4.5 and $5 million to Gen-i. There will also be a one-year right of renewal option on the contract, available at the ministry's discretion.

The closing date for the RFP was July 22 2008, and the ministry said it intended to award the contract by August 29, that year.
