FYI, this story is more than a year old

Gen-i has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver ICT services to the New Zealand Racing Board, valued at $26 million.

The deal was concluded following a competitive tender process, and will see Gen-i providing data, internet, voice, contact centre and mobile services.

NZ Racing Board interim chief executive, Bill Colgan, says in addition to improving current service delivery, the deal will focus on enhancing new wagering channels such as website and mobile phone betting.

"The NZ Racing Board, particularly its TAB operation, is a major user of technology to make the provision of form, vision, wagering and customer support as effective as possible.

"We’re delighted to continue what has been an important and long-term relationship with Gen-i.”

Chris Quin, chief executive of Gen-i Australasia, says the deal is a reflection of the company’s ability to tailor ICT solutions.

"We’ve worked hard to develop a deep understanding of the NZ Racing Board’s ICT needs to deliver a package that is innovative and flexible while offering value for money.”
