The billing utility specialist has signed a new contract to deliver its Gentrack Velocity software to Energy Response, Australia's and New Zealand's largest demand response aggregator.

“We’re excited to work with another innovator in the Smart Grid – Smart Metering space,” said Gentrack CEO James Docking. “Demand response is very new to our respective electricity markets, and it is quickly proving its merit as we look to rein-in increasing costs of electricity. We have invested significantly in understanding DR and the role of our utility billing system – all of which ensures that Energy Response has a ‘best of breed’ application to support the most complex of DR billing and tariff management activities.”

In early March Outpost Central and Gentrack joined forces to offer real-time water consumption information to consumers.
