Good Technology bags money-spinning Kiwi Finance deal...
Secure mobility provider Good Technology has announced that New Zealand’s financial conduct regulator, the Financial Markets Authority (FMA), has deployed Good for Enterprise and the Good Dynamics Secure Mobility Platform to secure mobile applications and data in the field.
The Good Dynamics Platform will enable FMA to securely mobilise business processes, enabling its employees to be more productive while on the move.
Established in 2011, FMA is an independent Crown entity with the mandate to promote and facilitate the development of fair, efficient, and transparent financial markets, responsible for the conduct and disclosure regulation of financial markets participants.
FMA Head of Finance and Business Operations, Dave Brady, says security was a key consideration for FMA when choosing its mobile platform.
“Given the nature of the finance industry and the role of FMA, it was critical for us to put in place a highly secure mobile solution,” Brady says.
“Good’s use in government agencies and departments both within New Zealand and around the world gave us the confidence that we were looking for in a secure mobility solution, particularly in regard to the security of our information.”
According to Brady, with a secure mobile platform in place, FMA staff can now work more effectively in the field without having to return to the office to complete certain tasks. This approach is consistent with FMA’s IT strategy, to provide its employees with the right tools to do their jobs effectively, both in and out of the office.
“With the Good Dynamics platform, we will be fully mobilising this workflow so that our people can securely record and enter information via their mobile device," Brady adds.
"We’ll also be looking to secure our Microsoft Dynamics CRM mobile application with Good’s secure data container."
FMA currently has around 110 mobile-enabled employees, using a mix of Android and iOS phone and tablet devices. For BYOD, the organisation requires a minimum of either Android 4.2 or iOS6 to be installed on the device.
"It is outstanding to see FMA exploring the true transformative potential of mobility,” adds Andy Jacques, senior vice president of worldwide sales, Good Technology.
“Like many organisations in the financial services industry, they have acknowledged how critical security is first and foremost.
"From a user perspective, they have also taken into account not only the importance of device choice, but also the ability to empower employees to do their jobs more effectively and efficiently in the field through mobilising and securing workflows and business processes.”
