FYI, this story is more than a year old

The internet giant has unveiled plans to create a web applications store in an effort to make it easier for users to find new browser apps.

A recent Google conference showcased the new store and it’s thought that the apps will be aimed at netbooks, particularly those using the Chrome OS.

A specific release date for the launch wasn’t given but the company said that it will go live before the end of the year.

Google added that around 70 million people currently have the Google Chrome browser installed.
