Google's multi-coloured data center has been brought to life through a series of images from Forbes magazine.

Located in Mayes County, Oklahoma, the data center is colour coordinated so they know which cables to replace in case of failure, with each server carrying four switches connected to a different colour cable.

"Google is proud to call Oklahoma home to one of our data centers," Google said at the time of it's opening.

"In 2007, we announced plans to construct a data center complex in Mayes County, OK. Then in the spring of 2012, we announced the addition of a second data center building.

"Over time, we've invested over $700 million and have established a long-term commitment to the region and state.

"Now a fully operational site, we've created over 100 on-site, full-time jobs and work hard to support the communities in which our employees live and work.

"Since 2008, we've awarded more than $309,000 in grants to Oklahoma schools and nonprofits, with particular focus on supporting educational initiatives in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)."
