Group-IB partners with SOC-CMM for enhanced cybersecurity

Thu, 13th Jun 2024

Group-IB has announced a strategic partnership with the Security Operations Center-Capability & Maturity Model (SOC-CMM), marking its debut as SOC-CMM's first Silver Support Partner in the Asia-Pacific region. This collaboration is aimed at enhancing the capabilities of Security Operations Centers (SOCs) worldwide through comprehensive assessments, consulting services, and targeted training.

The SOC-CMM model, which initially started as a scientific research project, has evolved into a widely accepted standard for measuring capability maturity in SOCs. It focuses on specific technologies and processes essential for advanced cybersecurity operations. As part of this new role, Group-IB will be offering in-depth counsel, conducting workshops, and delivering training to help organizations adhere to SOC-CMM standards.

Group-IB's involvement as a Silver Support Partner will leverage its extensive expertise as well as its Digital Crime Resistance Centers (DCRCs) located in the Middle East, Europe, Central Asia, and the Asia-Pacific region. These centres are instrumental in providing SOC-CMM advisory services on a global scale, transcending geographical limitations.

Vladimir Goliashev, Director of Cyber Defence & SOC Consulting at Group-IB, commented on this significant milestone. "Becoming the first SOC-CMM Silver Partner in Asia is a testament to Group-IB's commitment to advancing cybersecurity standards globally. Our DCRCs play an essential role in enabling us to conduct SOC-CMM assessments worldwide and provide tailored solutions that help organizations pinpoint areas for improvement, understand associated costs, and support budget requests," he said. Goliashev further highlighted that these assessments help validate and justify SOC improvement plans in relation to business risk reduction, benchmark SOC performance against industry standards, and develop actionable roadmaps for achieving desired security postures.

Rob van Os, CEO of SOC-CMM, also expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership. "SOC-CMM is proud to announce that it has partnered with Group-IB, a leading creator of cybersecurity technologies aimed at investigating, preventing, and combating digital crime, to extend its support partner network to new regions. As its first Silver Partner in Asia and with Digital Crime Resistance Centers in the Middle East, Europe, Central Asia, and the Asia-Pacific, this partnership will enable Group-IB to provide Security Operations Center (SOC) advisory services to organizations around the world that would like to grow and mature their operations," remarked van Os.

This partnership aims to provide organizations with precise assessments, customised consulting, and targeted training to improve their cybersecurity infrastructure. By combining Group-IB's cybersecurity proficiency with the SOC-CMM's established maturity model, organizations can expect to receive comprehensive guidance in implementing and adhering to industry standards.

With this strategic move, Group-IB hopes to further its mission of fostering a safer digital ecosystem and driving cybersecurity innovation on a global scale. The collaboration underscores the expanding role of Digital Crime Resistance Centers in providing indispensable support and services to combat digital crime.

Group-IB, established in 2003 and headquartered in Singapore, has been at the forefront of developing technologies designed to investigate, prevent, and fight digital crime. The firm's extensive network and expertise, encapsulated in its DCRCs, continue to play a critical role in regional and global cybersecurity frameworks.

While SOC-CMM, founded in 2017, has quickly become a go-to standard for SOC capability maturity assessments. The collaboration between these two entities is poised to deliver significant enhancements in cybersecurity capabilities for organizations across various sectors.
