HCLTech to run AI-led IT services for Team Global Express
HCLTech has won a contract with Team Global Express as the logistics group moves to consolidate its IT suppliers and introduce AI-led automation across core operations.
Team Global Express, which operates across Australia and New Zealand, said it selected HCLTech as a strategic technology partner as part of a wider programme to modernise IT operations and expand the use of AI-powered services.
The agreement brings Team Global Express' multi-vendor IT environment under a single partner model, with HCLTech taking on responsibility for managed services across several technology domains.
Single Partner
Team Global Express said the new arrangement consolidates its "multi-vendor IT landscape into a single, strategic partnership with HCLTech as the trusted advisor". The company positioned the shift as a way to simplify governance and streamline the operation of its technology estate.
HCLTech will deliver end-to-end managed IT services across applications, hybrid cloud infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, the digital workplace and service management. The scope covers both operational IT functions and user-facing workplace services, which are often treated as separate programmes inside large organisations.
The supplier said it will also deploy AI Force, its platform for service transformation. The companies described AI Force as a GenAI-driven system that supports automation and operational process change.
AI Force
HCLTech said AI Force will drive automation across Team Global Express' operations. The companies also linked the platform to compliance activity. They said it will enhance compliance.
Team Global Express and HCLTech also described customer experience as a priority area for the work. They said the platform will enhance customer experience across operations.
Large logistics operators have increased spending on IT modernisation in recent years as they address demand volatility, tighter delivery expectations and more complex supply chains. Many have also sought to reduce the number of IT providers involved in running critical platforms, particularly in security and network operations.
Service Scope
The contract gives HCLTech responsibility for running core IT operations that sit behind Team Global Express' logistics services. Applications and service management typically include incident response, change control and ongoing development work. Hybrid cloud infrastructure often spans on-premises systems and public cloud environments that run warehouse, distribution and customer service systems.
Networks and cybersecurity cover connectivity between sites, the protection of systems that store and move operational data and the management of security controls. Digital workplace services include end-user device management, identity access and collaboration systems.
Team Global Express said its partnership with HCLTech has grown rapidly. It framed the expanded agreement as a step change in how it manages suppliers and internal IT operations.
