Hey, Telecom, Leave our patch alone

Wed, 27th Mar 2013
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Minutes after announcing the Telecom UFB network launch, Orcon was quick to have its say on the matter.

Launched officially from the company's HQ in Auckland this lunch time, the telco says the network will be available to customers in the Chorus footprint.

Due to the fact they're by far the largest UFB partner with nearly 70% of the UFB market, it's worth noting Orcon has been manning this area for some time now.

"It’s great to see more ISPs finally selling fibre," says Taryn Hamilton, GM Retail, Orcon.

"We have been selling UFB for a year now, and have seen demand really ramp up, as Kiwis start to really appreciate the benefits.

"More players in the market will help education and awareness of fibre.

"We are convinced UFB is a fantastic service that people should be signing up for as soon as fibre rolls past their door."
