IDC names ANZ's top Digital Disruptor and Digital Transformer
The winners of the 2017 IDC Digital Transformation awards for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) have been announced.
The awards recognise the companies disrupting and transforming the market through the use of digital technologies and approaches. The nominations went through a rigorous judging process to determine the top Digital Transformer and Digital Disruptor for ANZ.
The awards were judged by IDC Australia research director Annemarie Kikos and Associate vice president for Asia Pacific IT Services Linus Lai.
And the winners are…
The Instillery and Oovvuu.
The Instillery has been named the 2017 Digital Transformer of the Year, and Oovvuu received the 2017 Digital Disruptor of the year award.
The InstilleryThe Instillery, a Kiwi company based in Auckland, has only been operating for four years, yet has come to be known as a disruptor of the cloud marketplace.
Beyond New Zealand, the company has a presence across Australia, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
The Instillery has collaborated with the Fonterra Co-operative Group to create a multivendor digital project ecosystem that is flexible and scalable, and implements standardised project administration, management, and development processes, workflow and governance.
The Instillery's Pipeline Creation Tool (PCT) offers a cloud-based toolset and process framework that includes automated project creation across best practice SaaS tools that encompass the full lifecycle of a digital project's documentation and admin needs.
The tool automates the entire process from creating a client brief through to code deployment and review.
OovvuuOovvuu is a Sydney startup that uses artificial intelligence to navigate every video in the world.
Compass, their proprietary AI, reads 300,000 articles by 100,000 publishers in real time and figures out what they are about.
Compass then watches thousands of video clips and full programs from global broadcasters to ascertain their content, and establishes whether they are a match.
When a video and an article match, Compass places the video in the article, where it is watched with advertising.
Kikos comments, "It's an extraordinary achievement and we look forward to seeing more cuttingedge transformers and disruptive projects in the year ahead as 54% of ANZ companies CxO's still call out DX as a challenge to transform their organisation.
The ANZ winners will go to Singapore in November to join other country winners from Asia Pacific to attend IDC's The DX Summit and Digital Transformation Awards (DXa) Gala Night.
