FYI, this story is more than a year old

IDC New Zealand has appointed Adam Dodds in the role of Research Manager IT Services, effective immediately.

Joining from Telecom New Zealand, where he held the role of Managing the Strategic Alliances Team, Dodds will be working with IDC's Australia and Global research team's, providing value to the New Zealand IT value chain.

IDC says Dodds will be responsible for driving the company's IT Services research agenda into the new era of 3rd Platform Computing, a fundamental market transformation driven by Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics, Social Business and Mobility.

"The Research Manager is a critical role for IDC and the broader industry and we have spent the last months carefully assessing our future research direction," says Ullrich Loeffler, Country Manager IDC New Zealand.

"Adam brings a wealth of industry experience with both a local and international perspective.

"This will enable IDC to provide relevant strategic and tactical insights to our clients, at a time when each link in the ICT value chain is forced to redefine and reinvent their business models."

Previous industry roles includes Financial Solutions Development Manager across Gen-i's ICT products and Enterprise Outsource agreements, with an extensive history in the Utilities industry across consultancy, trading and management functions.

“IT Services is a pretty exciting environment right now," Dodds says.

"The increased demand for a more "utilitised" IT model represents both a challenge and an opportunity for all.

"The customer models are changing and the global influences are getting stronger.

"I'm really excited to be joining such a strong, locally based research organisation and being part of it all."
