IDeaS unveils hotel rate intelligence tool for APAC
IDeaS has launched Rate Data Advantage, a new rate intelligence product for hotels across Australia, Asia and New Zealand.
The company said the product expands its pool of rate shopping data and adds new market performance analysis for hotel revenue teams. It said the tool compares real-time activity across multiple products, offerings and room types.
IDeaS describes Rate Data Advantage as an enhancement to its revenue management software. The company operates as a subsidiary of SAS.
Data expansion
IDeaS said the new product draws on a much larger volume of consumer rate shopping information than earlier tools. It put the increase at nearly 400 times more data. The company said that change adds detail across room types, product offerings, lengths of stay and distribution channels.
Hotels and resorts across the region have faced shifting demand patterns and close scrutiny of room pricing, as travellers compare rates across booking sites and brand channels. Rate shopping data has become more widely used by revenue teams as they track competitor pricing and booking conditions.
IDeaS said Rate Data Advantage evaluates market performance and highlights revenue drivers in a property's competitive set. It said the tool focuses on real-time signals across room categories and offers, rather than relying on limited competitor samples.
Pricing workflow
The company said the product improves pricing precision through analysis of rate shop data. It listed rate offerings, room types, booking restrictions, keywords and rate trends as areas covered by the analysis.
IDeaS also said the product flags detailed market trends and isolates anomalies. It said that data can inform revenue decisions and provide more confidence in day-to-day pricing moves.
The company said it has applied AI-based automation to parts of the data preparation process. It said the system handles rate and room-type matching, along with monitoring and maintenance. It said the automation reduces the need for manual normalisation of rate data before comparisons.

IDeaS said Rate Data Advantage pairs with its forecasting tools. The company said the combination lets operators analyse trends and opportunities at a more nuanced level than simpler data sets. It said the expanded data set can surface emerging revenue opportunities at different levels of operations.
The company positioned the product around room-type performance on-property as well as broader market dynamics. It said the tool provides insight across the competitive landscape, including products and offers that may sit outside a narrow peer set.

Availability
IDeaS said Rate Data Advantage is selectively available for existing clients. The company did not disclose pricing or the number of hotels currently using the product in Australia, Asia and New Zealand.
The company said it has more than 30,000 installations globally across hotels, resorts, global hotel chains, cruise lines and parking brands. It said it will expand access to Rate Data Advantage to more clients over time.
