Infinite Reality enters strategic partnership with Google Cloud

Fri, 6th Sep 2024

Infinite Reality has announced a new five-year strategic partnership with Google Cloud aimed at driving innovation, adoption, and scalability in immersive digital experiences.

The collaboration focuses on enhancing engagement across various sectors including e-commerce, sports and entertainment, education, and customer care through the 3D web and artificial intelligence (AI).

John Acunto, co-founder and CEO of Infinite Reality, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. "Our partnership with Google Cloud catapults our product roadmap and provides us with the level of infrastructure support that's critical for scale. Together with Google Cloud and our customers, we are opening doors to exciting opportunities in the immersive web space," he said.

The collaboration will leverage Google Cloud's infrastructure and Gemini models to optimise engagement, monetisation, and loyalty through high-quality digital interactions. Anil Jain, Global Managing Director, Strategic Consumer Industries at Google Cloud, commented on the power of cloud technology in transforming customer experiences. "Cloud-powered, 3D worlds are ushering in a new era of digital interaction. By partnering with Google Cloud and utilising our Gemini models, Infinite Reality is redefining customer engagement, enabling businesses to forge deeper connections through immersive experiences," Jain stated.

Rachel Jacobson, President of Global Business Ventures and Partnerships at Infinite Reality, highlighted the inclusive nature of the new tools being developed. "Through our partnership with Google Cloud, we are designing new, inclusive tools for brands to connect with a 21st-century audience and reimagine the digital landscape across key verticals including e-commerce, sports, entertainment, and education," Jacobson noted.

The market for immersive technology is growing, with reports indicating that websites featuring 3D and augmented reality (AR) assets experience increased traffic and higher organic engagement. As Gen Z and Millennials continue to blend their digital and physical worlds, the timing of this partnership appears strategic. Studies show that 92% of Gen Z are interested in AR shopping experiences—a trend that brands are increasingly looking to capitalise on.

Key capabilities offered through this partnership will include the creation of AI-powered 3D virtual worlds and the seamless integration of immersive environments into existing websites and applications. Additionally, brands will be able to deploy AI-powered ambassadors for enhanced customer service, sales, and community management. Access to powerful analytics on these virtual worlds' engagement metrics is also on the table.

This partnership aims to transform various customer categories. In e-commerce, brands will benefit from immersive shopping experiences with 3D product visualisation and AI-enabled customer support. In sports and entertainment, digital twins of venues and events will enable virtual meet-and-greets, community viewing, and exclusive content. The education and recruitment sectors will see interactive classes and job fairs, while customer service will utilise AI-powered agents for personalised support.

Infinite Reality plans to develop turnkey immersive solutions for Google Cloud customers, setting the stage for a broader adoption of advanced digital interactions across multiple industries.
