FYI, this story is more than a year old

Business consultancy Infosys Australia has aquired Gen-i's software solutions business from Telecom. The acquisition was made in tandem with an announcement of a "strategic partnership" between the two companies.

The acquisition was made in tandem with an announcement of a "strategic partnership" between the two companies.

"Since launching our first New Zealand office 18 months ago, we have been studying the market to find the right strategic partner," said Infosys ANZ managing director, Jackie Korhonen.

Infosys said job offers had been extended to more than 100 existing Gen-i employees and contractors, who will continue to be based in New Zealand, and planned to hire an additional 15 to 30 people.

"The synergies of this partnership will provide new career opportunities for these people and other New Zealanders we will hire to support our growing business," said Korhonen.

Gen-i Australasia CEO Chris Quin said the new partnership created value for both enterprises by combining Gen-i's local relationships with the global expertise of Infosys.
