Is your business intelligent?
Tue, 22nd Nov 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Information collected by systems such as CRMs, ERPs and document management systems is going to waste because organisations don’t know how to access it, according to business software provider Intergen.

To combat the problem, the Microsoft partners are ramping up their Business Intelligence capability, achieving Microsoft Gold Competency in Business Intelligence and appointing a dedicated Business Intelligence team leader.

Tony Stewart, Intergen managing director, says the company has had a dedicated BI team for over four years, and has historically offered BI integrated into its products. The appointment of Tim Mole, who has been working as the company’s Southern Regional Manager for the past seven years, signifies an expansion of this capability.

"As organisations look to work smarter,” Stewart says, "we’ve found that Business Intelligence has become more and more important to them.

"We have decided to bring a greater focus and investment to developing this service line with the intention to help our customers extract the most value from their information and solutions investment.”

Mole says the move comes as businesses expect more from their solutions.

"Users who were once satisfied to report from a single solution are now expecting that all information within an organisation should be readily available,” Mole says, "and even more so, complemented by externally-sourced information as well.”

Microsoft is hosting a series of Business Intelligence events called The Big Picture this week, in conjunction with Forrester Research. The events will take place in Christchurch tomorrow, Wellington on Wednesday and Auckland on Thursday (click on your city for more).
