FYI, this story is more than a year old

New Zealand IT recruitment firm Candle has revamped its business focus in the face of a skills shortage in the IT industry.

Candle Executive General Manager Linda Trevor, said “As we head towards a greater skills shortage, including shortages of business analysts and test analysts in Auckland, and in Wellington where there are a number of key projects going ahead in the government sector at the moment it has meant a steady amount of both permanent and contract vacancies coming through the pipeline. It is essential for us to focus on talent attraction and capturing the best so that we can continually supply our clients with the most skilful people.”

The business refresh has seen the company re-brand itself and launch a new website.

Trevor, continued, “There are great opportunities for Gen Y IT talent in New Zealand and at the same time Candle is keen to develop opportunities for the experienced Gen X IT professionals. With the Gen Y’ers, we want to attract those people, foster them and give both those individuals and our employer clients the best possible outcomes.”
