Jason Langley named Oracle New Zealand Managing Director

Wed, 23rd Jul 2025

Oracle has announced the appointment of Jason Langley as Managing Director for New Zealand, taking over from John Eastman, who will retire in January 2026 after a 17-year tenure.

John Eastman confirmed his decision to retire from his full-time role at Oracle, while highlighting the next steps for the leadership transition within the New Zealand business.

"After more than 17 years at Oracle, I've decided to step back from fulltime work. I will be retiring from Oracle in January 2026, but until then, I'm focused on setting us up for continued growth in New Zealand and ensuring a smooth transition as I hand over the reins to the very capable Jason Langley," Eastman said.
"It's been an incredible journey working alongside our passionate team, amazing customers, and partners to help shape Oracle's presence in New Zealand. I'm proud of how far we've come and excited for what's next as Oracle continues to lead the way in cloud and AI innovation globally and here at home. Jason brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective, and I look forward to working closely with him over the next six months. More to come soon."
"For now, thanks to everyone who's made this role so rewarding and to a sample collection of great Oracle managers and supporters."

Eastman will remain with the company until his retirement to help ensure a smooth transition and to continue supporting Oracle's growth in the New Zealand market over the coming months.

New leadership vision

Jason Langley, who has been named Managing Director Designate for New Zealand, shared his perspective on the new role.

"I'm excited to share that I've joined Oracle as Managing Director – Designate for New Zealand. It's a real privilege to step into this role and help shape the next chapter for Oracle in Aotearoa. There's strong momentum behind Oracle globally, and here in New Zealand we're seeing that come to life through wonderful partnerships, like the one we enjoy with TEAM Cloud New Zealand, who are delivering sovereign, hyperscale cloud services, powered by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, for customers including Inland Revenue NZ," Langley said.
"One of the key things that attracted me to Oracle is how the company is uniquely positioning itself as a multicloud enabler, giving its customers choice and meeting them where they are in their digital transformation journey. Also uniquely appealing is how Oracle is bringing AI to the data, embedding it across every layer of the stack - from infrastructure to applications - making it easier for organisations to unlock the value of their data, streamline operations and move faster."
"Over the next six months, I'll be working closely with John Eastman to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition. He's built a strong foundation here, and I'm looking forward to learning from him and to working alongside our incredible team, customers and partners. Thanks to everyone at Oracle for the warm welcome. I'm excited for what's ahead."

Langley highlighted the importance of the company's existing partnerships, particularly with TEAM Cloud New Zealand, and Oracle's work in providing cloud services to clients including Inland Revenue New Zealand. He also acknowledged Oracle's strategy as a multicloud enabler, its focus on customer choice, and how its AI integration across its technology stack is supporting organisations' data management and operational efficiency.

Continued growth focus

Oracle maintains a local focus on developing its presence in New Zealand, working closely with partners and customers to deliver services around data infrastructure and cloud technology.

Both Eastman and Langley have indicated that supporting and enabling digital transformation for clients remains a key priority during this transition.

The transitional period over the next six months will see Eastman and Langley collaborate closely, with Eastman remaining in an advisory and leadership capacity through to his retirement in January 2026, and Langley preparing to assume full responsibility as Managing Director for New Zealand.
