Jitterbit unveils AI-infused App Builder 4.0 during Coding Week

Thu, 26th Sep 2024

Jitterbit has announced the launch of App Builder 4.0, a new AI-infused, low-code platform designed to accelerate application development. This release comes as Coding Week highlights the importance of coding and development skills in modern business environments.

App Builder 4.0 aims to democratise application development by enabling IT and business teams of various skill levels to create scalable, secure, and compliant applications more efficiently. Vito Salvaggio, Senior Vice President of Product Management at Jitterbit, commented on the growing demand for custom applications and how their new product addresses this need.

"The industry is witnessing an unprecedented increase in demand for custom applications, yet many organisations are constrained by limited development resources," Salvaggio said. "With App Builder, teams can now develop scalable, secure applications in minutes, regardless of their technical expertise. Our AI assistant further reduces the learning curve and expands the range of potential use cases."

The global market for low-code development is significant, with Research and Markets estimating it to reach USD $345 billion by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 37.8%. Jitterbit believes that its new platform will help organisations tap into this expanding market by simplifying the application development process.

Among the primary features of App Builder 4.0 is the AI-infused application development capability, which employs an AI assistant to offer guided conversations, easy-to-follow prompts, and automated suggestions. This feature is intended to make development more intuitive and accessible, whether for experienced developers or beginners.

The platform offers several new capabilities aimed at improving both usability and development speed. These include an AI Assistant, which is currently available in beta for all App Builder 4.0 customers. The AI Assistant uses a natural language chatbot to aid in designing and developing applications significantly faster. "By providing guided conversations, easy-to-follow prompts, automated suggestions, and a simplified learning process, App Builder makes development more intuitive and accessible," said Jitterbit in their announcement.

Additional features of App Builder 4.0 include application component release, which allows for the independent building and releasing of application components such as pages and rules. Transactions and rollback handlers provide automated rollback for simplified error-handling, while offline mode enables end-users to operate mobile apps without an Internet connection. The visual workflow edit functionality uses an intuitive diagram interface for modifying workflows and application logic easily.

The AI Assistant in App Builder 4.0 is currently available in an open beta, accessible to both new and existing customers. Customers wishing to access the AI Assistant must upgrade to App Builder 4.0 and request beta access through Jitterbit. Jitterbit also offers a hosted beta environment for ease of access.

Additionally, Jitterbit has announced a 'Build Fast' promotional bundle. This offer, available for a limited time, includes a one-year Jitterbit App Builder license, professional services and support from Jitterbit experts, and the development and deployment of a real application into production. The promotion aims to help organisations jumpstart their application development efforts.

Jitterbit's new product is poised to make a significant impact in the low-code development market by offering powerful, AI-driven capabilities that simplify and accelerate the application development process.
