FYI, this story is more than a year old

Tauranga-based wireless broadband company EOL has partnered with Israeli technology company Wavion to expand its network.

Terry Coles, EOL Managing Director, says the biggest advantage of going with Wavion technology was that it doesn’t require large and costly towers.

“In contrast to more conventional equipment, Wavion base stations can be installed discretely on street lamp poles and buildings – a far more environmentally sensitive approach,” he said.

EOL has upgraded most of its network from conventional access points to Wavion base stations.

Wavion CEO Tal Meirzon added, “We are pleased that our superior coverage, capacity and reliability have significantly contributed to EOL’s success. It is yet another proof of the added value of our unique and powerful beam-forming technology – for wide area coverage in urban and rural settings.”
