Kiwi time clocking and attendance solution provider iDt has acquired its Australian competitor Bio Recognition Systems, in a move which will see the company increase its customer base as well as its development capability.

iDt sells everything from basic time clocks to biometric finger scanning machines to help businesses keep track of their employees.

Geoff Burnett, the company's managing director, says the IP and existing code that comes with the BRS acquisition will provide a significant technological leap forward.

"We have always sought to keep our customers at the forefront of technology,” Burnett says, "and this move further reinforces our commitment to product development and innovation.

A healthy balance sheet will allow the company to take full advantage, Burnett adds.

"We are in the ideal position of being able to fund this acquisition and other growth out of cash reserves.

Based in Auckland, iDt also has offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, and employs over 50 staff. Go here for more.
