KnowBe4 launches free cybersecurity toolkit for awareness month

Wed, 14th Aug 2024

KnowBe4 has announced the release of a comprehensive cybersecurity resource toolkit at no cost in recognition of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, which takes place in October.

The toolkit is designed to help individuals and organisations enhance their cybersecurity awareness and strengthen their overall security posture.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a global initiative aimed at educating people about online safety and empowering them to protect their data from cybercrime. KnowBe4's resource kit includes campaign ideas and a guide to assist IT administrators in creating an effective cybersecurity awareness programme.

"Cybersecurity is a collective responsibility, and Cybersecurity Awareness Month is a great opportunity for everyone to engage in improving security practices," said Stu Sjouwerman, CEO of KnowBe4. "At KnowBe4, our mission is to equip employees with the knowledge and skills to make smarter security decisions. This resource kit aligns perfectly with that mission by providing essential tools and guidance for raising awareness of risky behaviours and how to navigate the ever increasing number of cybersecurity threats. As a 2024 Cybersecurity Awareness Month Champion, we are proud to contribute to a stronger security culture and help organisations enable employees to stay safe."

The KnowBe4 2024 Cybersecurity Awareness Month Resource Kit includes various components aimed at both individuals and organisations. Among the key elements are "The Inside Man: New Recruits" game, which integrates users into a series focused on protecting a corporation from hackers. The kit also provides eight additional video and interactive training modules available in multiple languages.

Other features of the toolkit include free access to the first season of "The Inside Man" for a limited time, four character cards and posters from the series, additional posters and digital signage assets in multiple languages, and four security hints and tips newsletters. Furthermore, the kit offers free educational resources like KnowBe4's most popular on-demand webinar and whitepaper.

To aid in planning activities, the toolkit includes a Cybersecurity Awareness Month User Guide and a Cybersecurity Awareness Weekly Planner, both designed to streamline the process of building and implementing a cybersecurity awareness programme.

KnowBe4, known for its security awareness training and simulated phishing platform, is utilised by more than 65,000 organisations globally. Founded by IT and data security specialist Stu Sjouwerman, the company focuses on addressing the human element of security through awareness training that highlights the risks of ransomware, CEO fraud, and other social engineering tactics. The late Kevin Mitnick, a renowned cybersecurity specialist and KnowBe4's Chief Hacking Officer, contributed to the development of the training programmes based on his social engineering strategies.

This latest initiative by KnowBe4 aims to support the overarching goals of Cybersecurity Awareness Month by raising awareness and providing practical tools to help organisations and individuals mitigate the risks associated with cybercrime.
