Kyndryl & AWS collaborate to boost customer adoption of generative AI solutions
Tue, 28th Nov 2023

Global IT infrastructure services provider Kyndryl recently announced its strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to amplify customer adoption of generative AI solutions. The announcement follows a new multi-year Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) between the two companies.

The collaboration is focused on developing and delivering advanced machine learning capabilities and generative artificial intelligence solutions. This partnership aims to propel business innovation, enhance efficiency and accelerate digital transformation for Kyndryl and AWS customers.

Kyndryl and AWS have several collaborative activities planned under the agreement. Firstly, they aim to set up the Kyndryl and AWS Innovation Factory, a mutual investment initiative to co-create generative AI and machine learning solutions centred on particular industry use cases. This platform will enable customers to engrain innovation across their businesses and accelerate their cloud modernisation and digital transformation journey.

In addition, the collaboration will boost Kyndryl's abilities to design, implement, migrate, modernise and manage complex IT environments harnessing AWS cloud services. The partners will also fast-track the modernisation of enterprise resource planning systems on AWS via shared strategic execution plans designed to minimise costs, time, and complexity. Kyndryl's technical specialists also plan to augment their expertise by rapidly acquiring additional AWS-based certifications and specialist qualifications.

Nicolas Sekkaki, The Global Practice leader for Kyndryl Applications, Data and AI, stated: "The expansion of our alliance with AWS fuels Kyndryl's ability to help customers accelerate the adoption and maximise the benefit of generative AI solutions."

Sekkaki added that the project will help Kyndryl scale its reach and ability to facilitate digital transformations for customers on AWS via a growing array of application modernisation options.

Julia Chen, Vice President of Partner Core at AWS, also commented on the partnership: "Our customers turn to AWS Partners to support them through their cloud migration journey, in optimising their IT assets to unlock future business growth and identifying how and where to leverage new technologies for maximum business impact."

"We are delighted to work with Kyndryl to help our shared customers leverage data to derive AI insights at scale."

One of the clients benefiting from this collaboration, Michael Wagner, MD, President and Chief Executive Officer at Care New England, validated the strategic alliance. "Given Kyndryl's expertise and skills in supporting enterprises in their digital transformation journey, we knew they would be the ideal AWS Partner to modernise and migrate our mission-critical workloads to AWS."

"This migration project is key to reducing our operations costs, strengthening our systems data security and freeing up valuable time for our staff to focus on providing the highest quality patient care."

Kyndryl's AI-readiness program will be utilised to further support customers in adopting responsible AWS generative AI services. This program, leveraging Kyndryl's domain knowledge and enterprise-grade AI expertise, empowers customers with the necessary end-to-end services to integrate generative AI solutions that will drive business impact.
