Lancom wins AWS Managed Service Provider designation
Lancom Technology has secured the Amazon Web Services Managed Service Provider designation, placing the cloud services firm in a small group of AWS partners validated for end-to-end managed services.
The designation sits within the AWS Managed Service Provider Programme, which recognises partners that run structured service delivery across planning, migration, operations and optimisation. AWS assesses applicants on technical expertise, operational maturity and business health.
Lancom operates across New Zealand, Australia and the United States. The company already holds AWS competencies in areas including SaaS, Migration and Microsoft Workloads.
"Whether it's small and medium size businesses or global enterprises, we leverage our skills and competencies to assist our customers utilise AWS to maintain, optimise, modernise and scale their environments. Achieving AWS's MSP designation recognizes our efforts in excelling at delivering high value to the organizations who choose to partner with us," said Priscila Bernardes, CEO, Lancom Technology.
Programmeme scope
The AWS programme describes four phases of delivery for validated MSP partners. These are plan and design, build and migrate, run and operate, and optimise. AWS also describes validated partners as providers of secure, automated, 24/7 managed services.
The programme includes access to AWS resources such as technical enablement and co-selling. It also includes marketing materials that partners can customise.
AWS has reported that validated MSP partners can see higher customer growth than peers. The company has also highlighted examples of outcomes reported by customers, including cost reductions, faster deployments and fewer cybersecurity incidents. The figures cited include 20% cost reductions, 75% faster deployments and 50% fewer cybersecurity incidents.
Lancom position
Lancom said the designation follows a process that requires evidence of delivery and ongoing support. Bernardes also linked the achievement to the company's existing managed services work.
"And, through continuous innovation, we've shown our ability to ensure clients benefit from the latest AWS capabilities," said Bernardes.
Lancom has worked with AWS on customer projects and has previously received recognition from the vendor. It won the Innovation Partner Award in 2022 for work modernising an application for Barwon Health.
"Adding MSP to this portfolio strengthens our ability to deliver end-to-end cloud solutions from strategy and migration to optimization and ongoing management," said Bernardes. "For current and potential customers, this is an assurance that we meet the highest AWS standards, capable of delivering enhanced support through access to top-tier monitoring, automation, and cost optimization. And it means we're ready to and capable of contextualizing and delivering the continuous stream of innovations coming out of the AWS ecosystem for our clients' benefit."
Group context
Lancom also sits within Lyra Technology Group. Lyra Technology Group Regional CEO Waruna Kirimetiyawa also serves as Lancom Technology Managing Director.
"As we look ahead to engaging with at scale businesses, this is an assurance of tier one delivery they expect," said Kirimetiyawa.
The AWS MSP designation can influence how technology services firms position themselves in procurement processes that require formal validation of operational practices. It can also shape a partner's relationship with AWS, including access to joint sales motions and technical resources.
Lancom said its managed service offer includes ongoing cloud operations and advisory work. The company also emphasised internal training as part of maintaining partner certifications and competencies.
"Finally, I'd like to acknowledge our technical teams who have put in the work; as with other partner designations, this is only possible if we gain the necessary skills and experience. That's why we have continuous learning as a core value, and it reflects in the growing number of competencies we offer the market," said Bernardes.
