Lenovo delivers new future-ready IT infrastructure

By Ryan Morris-Reade
Fri 11 Mar 2022

Lenovo has introduced newly customised IT infrastructure solutions for midsized businesses, with a series of solutions and services to help companies transform and grow.

With growing businesses in mind, the suite of edge-to-cloud flexible IT infrastructure solutions includes new server, storage and service offerings that help organisations overcome resource limitations and optimise for remote work.

Midsized businesses make up the majority of the worldwide economy and workforce, with IDC projecting 70% to increase their IT spend by 2026 significantly. As digital transformation continues to accelerate globally, Lenovo says growing businesses must quickly adapt to ever-changing market demands, achieve faster deployment, seamlessly manage resources and reduce security risks.

"Many organisations face limitations in IT staffing, skills and funding, creating barriers to infrastructure transformation," says Lenovo ISG president APAC, Sumir Bhatia.

"Lenovo's new purpose-built cloud and on-premise server-based solutions provide reliable infrastructure and proven expertise that improve workforce productivity and allows businesses to start small, remain competitive and grow."

"With our newly customised IT infrastructure solutions, Lenovo is truly delivering on the promise of smarter technology for all and offering a wide range of opportunities, especially for midsize businesses to achieve greater stability and business growth."

He says from affordability and flexibility to global services and a broad partner ecosystem, its solutions will continue to support businesses in Australia and New Zealand to improve productivity and respond to an ever-evolving business environment.

"Investments in digital capabilities and infrastructure are key in enabling start-ups and the larger ecosystem to fuel innovation and sustaining business growth."

Future-ready transformation with flexible IT

Lenovo's new portfolio features new single-socket ThinkSystem V2 Servers, optimised to accelerate growth with remote work and hybrid cloud solutions.

The company says the servers provide a flexible, energy-efficient, low-noise solution for constrained spaces inside and outside the data center.

"The new single-socket ThinkSystem ST50 V2, ST250 V2 and the SR250 V2 servers offer companies simple solutions that are easily tailored for running their business, including support for business-critical applications in retail, manufacturing and financial services," says Bhatia.

"In combination with ThinkSystem servers, the Lenovo ThinkSystem DM5100F storage system is an award-winning affordable, feature-rich all-flash SAN storage solution that adapts to new workloads over time, allowing businesses to start small and grow, as well as manage data from the edge to the cloud."

Pedro Ramirez, CEO of STGT, says, "As Lenovo services handle our infrastructure management, we now devote more resources to building new digital services for clients. We're becoming more agile with Lenovo TruScale Infrastructure Services, delivering higher-quality services to clients while significantly reducing our costs. The Lenovo solution will help us achieve sustainable growth in the years ahead."

Easy management

Lenovo's built-in Lenovo XClarity management software helps customers manage their data and infrastructure solutions. The company says with XClarity, businesses have an easy-to-use dashboard that can standardise, simplify and automate IT management tasks.

"For companies that have remote and branch offices, enabling remote work is challenging," says Bhatia.

"Lenovo TruScale for Hosted Desktops enables remote workers to be productive with enhanced security from anywhere. To make it even easier, Lenovo offers Professional Services Tokens, which can be purchased for hourly increments of IT technical expertise and service support."

Recovery and protection

Historically, 43% of cyberattacks target small and midsize businesses1. Of those that experience a security breach or cyberattack, nearly 60% go out of business. Lenovo says its solutions for business continuity help reduce the risk of downtime. Lenovo offers ThinkSystem V2 servers with ThinkShield Security and award-winning ThinkSystem DM storage solutions with built-in automatic ransomware protection.
