Lenovo has unveiled the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable, described as the world's first rollable display AI PC.
The ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable was developed in collaboration with Lenovo Research, marking a transition from a prototype to an available product. The device, initially introduced as a concept two years ago, aims to provide business professionals with practical, high-performance solutions.
Designed to enhance productivity and multitasking, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable features a unique rollable display. This display can transition from a 14-inch to 16.7-inch screen size through a key press or hand gestures, providing users with an additional 50% screen space. This makes it suitable for business users who require flexibility and efficiency while on the move. The ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable maintains a slim 14-inch footprint with a 19.9mm profile and weighs 1.7kg.
The ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable combines laptop portability with the expanded screen capabilities typically associated with larger devices. It utilises the ThinkBook Workspace and offers split-screen functionality and widgets for quick access to frequently used applications. The vertical laptop screen experience aims to promote better posture and reduce strain for professionals working extended hours.
The device includes several AI-enabled features, such as Lenovo AI Now and Copilot+ PCs with generative AI capabilities. AI features aim to streamline workflows and suggest tasks, assisting users in handling demanding tasks offline by combining powerful on-device and cloud capabilities.
The ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable addresses the needs of mobile professionals and business travellers. It provides an extended vertical display for applications like document review and content creation and includes split-screen capabilities. With virtual display technology, users can create an additional virtual display for meetings, reducing the need for external monitors.
Powered by Intel Core Ultra processors, the device offers AI-optimised performance and power efficiency. It includes Intel Arc graphics, robust connectivity options such as Thunderbolt 4 and Intel Wi-Fi 7, an edge-to-edge keyboard, a 120Hz OLED display with 400 nits brightness, and 100% DCI-P3 colour accuracy for a vibrant user experience.
