FYI, this story is more than a year old

Point Of Sale (POS) technology distributor Skyzer Technologieshas secured the rights to offer security appliances produced by Mako Networks.

The deal will focus on helping businesses, particularlysmall and medium-sized businesses, reach the Payment Card Industry DataSecurity Standard (PCI DSS)

Skyzer general manager, Steve Marson, says PCI DSS confirmsthat a company’s entire payment network is protected, compared with the PaymentApplication Data Security Standard (PA DSS) which covers only terminal handsetsand software systems.

Small and medium businesses are particularly vulnerable toattack, adds Mako account manager, Matt Atkinson.

"Recent studies have shown that payment card fraud levels amongSMBs are on the rise,” Atkinson says.

"We’re keen to start work with Skyzer to lock down andprotect SMB payment systems.”
