Mantel Group continues NZ expansion with Auckland office
Technology and design consultancy company Mantel Group is cementing its position in the New Zealand technology industry with the opening of another office, or team 'hub', in Commercial Bay, Auckland.
This comes alongside 23 team members recently joining in New Zealand across four of Mantel Group's eight brands including Eliiza, DigIO, CMD Solutions and Kasna working in data, digital and cloud.
Mantel Group's hub approach allows each team member to collaborate, socialise and access the best flexible working conditions suited to them. In addition to the first major hub in Auckland, Mantel Group also has a second hub in New Zealand in Queenstown, which opened last year as a destination hub for employees across Australia and New Zealand to use as a working holiday location.
A secondary destination hub is also active on Magnetic Island, off the coast of Townsville in far North Queensland, Australia, with the team at Mantel Group currently voting on a third location to activate.
With more than 650 team members across ANZ, Mantel Group's Auckland office provides further scope to service the local market with more local talent. The company, which was awarded Best Place to Work in Australia 2021, is on the lookout for more NZ-based talent, no matter their location, providing them options to work in office, all remote or semi-remote.
"I am so excited to see Mantel Group's investment into the New Zealand market. When I originally joined Mantel Group nearly two years ago, we did not yet have a plan for this expansion," says Auckland-based general manager of Eliiza Natalie Rouse.
"To be on the ground and help bring it to life has been inspiring. The entire team wants to do it the right way, and understands that New Zealand is not just an extension of Australia," she says.
"Our desire is to offer real understanding to our New Zealand clients, and help provide solutions that better their business."
With eight specialised brands within Mantel Group, across digital, data, design and the three major cloud providers, the move to New Zealand comes at a time of significant growth for the company. All eight brands will look to develop into New Zealand; however, the larger brands and those with key partners on the ground have been the first to set up locally.
"We have worked with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform to further understand the problems being faced by businesses in New Zealand," says Rouse.
"We can then work closely with them to ensure we deliver a tailored market based solution, utilising our specialised brands' knowledge and expertise.
Kasna, the cloud partner brand of Google Cloud within Mantel Group, recently started work with Easy Crypto. The New Zealand based crypto currency platform will work with Kasna Cloud Engineers to build out their foundations on the Google Cloud Platform.
"Expanding globally, we needed to ensure that our systems were resilient and could perform at extreme scale," says Ira Bailey, head of platforms, Easy Crypto.
"Having worked with Mantel Group and Kasna in Australia for close to four years, I knew that the deep knowledge and Google Cloud expertise they could bring would be critical for our success."
Mantel Group will continue its investment in the New Zealand market long term, with it being a key part of its 2025 strategy, looking to grow the team through the best local talent.
