FYI, this story is more than a year old

Minister for Economic Development Gerry Brownlee announced five suppliers have been included on the panel for an all-of-government contract to supply computers to State sector agencies for a period of up to five years.

The Gen-i and Lenovo contract win covers the procurement and supply of computers to around 200 state sector agencies. It’s also one of the first contracts to be awarded as part of the MED’s four-year programme to reform procurement.

Lenovo ANZ GM and VP, Alan Munro, added that the deal was possibly the single biggest notebook, desktop and monitor deal ever made in New Zealand.

Contracts were also awarded to Acer, Cyclone, HP New Zealand and The Laptop Company.

"These contracts will deliver improved service quality, make it easier for companies to do business with government and save more than $35 million over the five years," Brownlee.
