FYI, this story is more than a year old

Microsoft has announced the release date for Office 2010, which will be available first to business customers on May 13th before being available online and on retail shelves in June for consumers.

Businesses are set to get the jump on consumers with Microsoft's latest Office product, according to reports. The release dates laid out by Microsoft over the weekend covered Office 2010 supersuite, SharePoint 2010, Project 2010 and Visio 2010.

The suite will be released to manufacturing in April followed by a release to Australian business customers on May 13th (May 12th in the US). IT Brief has contacted Microsoft for New Zealand specific launch details.

In the meantime, the Office 2010 beta is still running and Microsoft has said that anyone purchasing Office 2007 between March 5th and September 30th would be eligible for a free upgrade version of Office 2010.
