FYI, this story is more than a year old

Microsoft New Zealand has revealed a revamped schedule for this year's TechEd New Zealand convention, taking place September 9-12.

Chiefly, the tech giant is upgrading the highly popular keynote speech from Sky City to the Vector Arena, such is the demand for the conference kick starter.

Following the keynote speech there will also be a new fully themed kick-off event called TechLive, designed to start the week off with a bang.

Now in its 19th year, TechEd New Zealand is the largest IT conference in the country, providing delegates with the opportunity to meet Microsoft experts, and network with peers and industry influencers.

TechEd 2014 will be launched at 4pm Tuesday September 9 with international keynote speakers followed by TechLive – featuring surprise activities, great food, entertainment and live music.

For those you enjoy a good tipple, attendees will be extra happy with the introduction of a new "Hub Happy Hour" Wednesday and Thursday, providing a chance to mingle and enjoy a drink after the last session ends.

New TechEd New Zealand website functionality will also allow delegates to easily arrange to meet up and network in the evenings, plus will give visitors from out of town some great tips on things to do in the evenings in and around Auckland.

In addition to all the interesting technical tracks frequent TechEd New Zealand attendees are used to, an empowering new track has be added this year called "Be more awesome" which focusses on teaching delegates how to develop teams, engage (e.g. via marketing or social media), manage projects, present, and sell.

Also, a new evening event will focus on women in technology and look to support women in the industry.
