MSI unveils new servers with latest AMD EPYC 4004 processors
MSI, a prominent global server provider, has announced the availability of new high-performance server platforms supporting AMD EPYC 4004 processors. These platforms aim to serve small and medium businesses, as well as regional-hosted IT service providers, by delivering essential security capabilities and energy efficiency.
"Businesses across all scales are discovering the advantages of advanced computing, connectivity, and analytics capabilities as applications and services become more widespread," stated Danny Hsu, General Manager of Enterprise Platform Solutions at MSI.
"MSI server platforms, backed by the AMD EPYC 4004 processors, enable our customers to implement high-performance computing with cost-effective ease of deployment and manageability features. This capability addresses challenges such as system costs, limited IT expertise, and other infrastructure constraints that were previously prohibitive."
John Morris, corporate vice president of the Enterprise and HPC Business Group at AMD, highlighted the significant market gap that the AMD EPYC 4004 CPUs fill. "The AMD EPYC 4004 CPUs bring enterprise solutions to a traditionally underserved market, ensuring that small and medium businesses have access to highly-performant technologies that help them stay competitive. These CPUs offer cost-optimised solutions with enterprise-grade dependability, scalability, and security in system configurations that make sense for smaller businesses and dedicated hosters."
Utilising the AMD EPYC 4004 processors, MSI has developed the D3051 and D3052 motherboards to provide distinct networking speed options that accommodate the rapid growth of data today. The D3051 motherboard is equipped with up to two 10GbE and one 1GbE onboard Ethernet ports, while the D3052 offers two 25GbE onboard Ethernet ports. Both server motherboards feature four DDR5 DIMM slots, one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, up to six SATA 6G ports, and two PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 ports, presenting a cost-optimised approach for server deployment in the standard Micro ATX form factor.
For small-sized businesses, MSI is introducing the air-cooled S1102-01 and liquid-cooled S1102-02 server platforms. The S1102-01, featuring an air-cooled heatsink and supporting a CPU up to 105W, provides an efficient thermal management solution, while the S1102-02, equipped with a closed-loop internal liquid cooler supporting a CPU up to 170W, is tailored for businesses requiring enhanced cooling performance.
Both systems come with a single AMD EPYC 4004 Series Processor and include four DDR5 DIMM slots, one PCIe 4.0 slot, two NVMe M.2 ports, two 10GbE onboard Ethernet ports, and four 3.5-inch SATA hot-swappable drive bays in a compact 1U configuration.
MSI's server platforms powered by AMD EPYC 4004 processors are now available through MSI's global partners.
