MYOB adds AI & 250 upgrades to boost efficiency in platform

Fri, 14th Nov 2025

MYOB has introduced new Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities and made 250 enhancements to its cloud-based MYOB Acumatica platform, targeting mid-sized businesses in Australia and New Zealand. These updates are intended to improve productivity, increase operational visibility, and enhance adaptability within business operations.

AI integration

The MYOB Acumatica update features three distinct AI-driven functionalities. Accounts Payable Bill Entry can now read supplier invoices, automate bill data entry and route bills for approvals. An AI Expense Creation tool converts receipts directly into expenses within the platform. Meanwhile, an AI Advisor detects anomalies, transforms enterprise resource planning (ERP) data into actionable insights, and provides predictive forecasting capabilities. The AI Assistant also offers predictive text and autocomplete features to speed up routine entry tasks.

"Mid-sized businesses are often quick to embrace new technology and our latest data highlights that AI use by this segment has reached a turning point, moving beyond experimentation and promise, to genuine impact. Nearly half of the businesses we polled are already seeing productivity gains from their existing use of AI, and looking ahead over the next 12 months, there's a strong intention among these business operators to scale their use of AI across core operational workflows to deliver more value," said Valantis Vais, General Manager, Product & Product Marketing at MYOB.

Efficiency focus

The new release is designed to enhance efficiency. AI-driven automation cuts bill entry times from minutes to seconds and processes expenses more swiftly to accelerate reimbursements. Predictive intelligence is positioned to provide further strategic value in the near term.

"This is precisely where the latest developments to our platform come in - it's not about AI for the sake of it, but applying AI with tangible purpose through MYOB Acumatica to drive efficiencies and accuracy that can be converted into real performance gains," said Vais.

Platform users have already provided feedback that improved automation helps teams to "accomplish more". Vais noted: "From cutting bill entry time from minutes to just seconds per invoice, to faster processing of expenses for quicker reimbursement, our early adopters are already seeing results. With the ability to leverage predictive intelligence for a greater strategic advantage coming soon, the power of AI continues to transform MYOB Acumatica as the platform does the heavy lifting so local mid-sized businesses can accomplish more and truly thrive and succeed."

Supply chain enhancements

The platform's latest update includes tools aimed at improving supply chain workflows. Enhanced traceability features enable users to capture and search full lot and serial attributes for items during sales. The mobile app now supports direct warehouse transfer acknowledgements, reducing paperwork and expediting stock movements between locations.

Integration with a new Device Hub allows package weights to be taken directly from connected scales, which is aimed at ensuring shipping calculations are correct and fulfilment processes proceed as planned. "These updates are about offering clearer insight, less friction, and stronger control across every stage of the supply chain," said Vais. "We're helping mid-sized businesses streamline how goods flow through their operations, with tools that make traceability effortless and accuracy the default."

Production and scheduling

MYOB Acumatica now provides improved production visibility. Updates include material-readiness views that list open production orders and indicate when they can be initiated, using visual cues. New scheduling views allow teams to clearly see work-centre timelines, allowing for early identification and balancing of workloads if bottlenecks occur. Due-date tracking now ties production schedules back to demand, supporting better order prioritisation.

"Across this release, our focus has been on visibility, automation, and readiness for what's ahead," said Vais. "These enhancements target the core areas our customers work in every day, delivering the clarity, speed, and confidence mid-sized businesses need to keep their operations moving and their teams focused on growth."
