Nasuni launches IQ tool for unstructured data optimisation in AI
Thu, 22nd Feb 2024

Today, Nasuni, a leader in hybrid cloud storage solutions, has announced the launch of Nasuni IQ, an innovative tool intended to assist enterprises in managing, evaluating, and preparing their unstructured data environment for Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Boston-based company's latest offering comes at a time when Gartner predicts that large enterprises will triple their unstructured data capacity by 2028, highlighting the escalating importance of unlocking the hidden potential within such data.

Unstructured data, which often holds a significant portion of a company's intellectual property, has frequently been overlooked and forgotten in antiquated storage silos. As organisations increasingly seek to exploit the benefits of AI, effective data management strategies aimed at harnessing the power of this unstructured data are coming to the fore.

Nasuni's File Data Platform is designed to support future data initiatives, consolidating unstructured data within a single global namespace and helping companies transition away from their current NAS infrastructure. The new Nasuni IQ enhances and extends this platform, offering increased visibility and insights, proactive data management, and data curation for AI.

Russ Kennedy, Nasuni's Chief Product Officer, emphasised the important role of data management in the effective implementation of AI tools. "As more businesses turn to AI and advanced analytics for a competitive edge, understanding and managing the data feeding those tools will be the deciding factor in their success. The Nasuni Data Platform consolidates silos of data in a cloud object store and then provides enterprises with the visibility and insight to leverage their data for the next generation of intelligence tools," Kennedy said.

Scott Sinclair, Practice Director of Cloud, Infrastructure, and DevOps at ESG, commented on the growing use of AI technology and its possibilities for business data. "The rapid emergence of AI technology is driving organisations to evaluate how they can use unstructured data to their advantage. Nasuni IQ is a powerful new solution that aids data discovery and enables organisations to do the critical curation that should be done before exposing business data to AI services and language models," Mr Sinclair said.

Rob Ruggiero, Global Infrastructure Architect at SGSCO, praised the efficiency of Nasuni IQ in managing file data. "Nasuni IQ has become a valuable tool for our file data oversight. With its intuitive features, we effortlessly track the most active users, monitor dynamic directories, and gain valuable insights into file interactions. The ability to identify hotspots and trace file movements has enhanced our monitoring capabilities, enabling us to visualise our data collaboration patterns."

The launch of Nasuni IQ follows a successful 2023 for Nasuni, which saw a 46% growth in new customer bookings and 118% net revenue retention. The company continues to deliver innovative data management solutions, meeting the ever-evolving needs of businesses as they explore the capabilities of AI.
